This project was inspired by MimiG’s Cardi Turned Dress blog post. I completely fell in love with her dress and had to make my own. However, just before adding buttons to make it a dress (and because I was pressed for time), I decided to leave it as a duster. I have to say, I absolutely love it the way it is. I have so much flexibility to style it as a duster as opposed to a dress. I will, however, still make the dress using the same pattern.
This duster was made using the New Look 6735 cardigan pattern. The pattern was very simple to make, with the only alternations being additional length and not adding buttons. I chose a stretch knit fabric that sewed pretty easily. This material was medium weight and breathable, perfect for these 70 degree (F) “winter” days that we’ve been getting in the south. It is see-through when put up to light, so if made into a dress, it would require the appropriate undergarments.

Than you! Getting better with each project. You have to make the vest before summer lol
You're doing a great job with this project. You're turning into a professional. BTW, I still haven't made the vest yet! I really got to get on it.
